I have just come back from a weekend away at Butlins Skegness with my family we booked up to go with willington youth under 11s team.
My son plays in division 8, willington youth are in dvision 1. We weren’t going for the football we were going for the weekend away with friends and so my son could have fun with his friends.
The night before we went we were given a strip and told to take it they were putting him down as a guest player and if they could play him they would.
I felt really nervous by this knowing my son was at a total different level of football to the team.
However when we got there this team made my son feel as important as the rest of the team he was involved as much as the rest and the coach treat him as he did the rest of the team.
The kids were excited to get my son on that pitch as much as they were themselves. This little team were happy to be subbed so my son could get to play.
I just want to say a big Thankyou to Ian the manager, coaches and parents but most off all to them fab kids who made my son feel part of a team he never thought he would play for.
